Study Skills Unit
In this unit, your counselors focus on helping students learn and maintain good study habits as well as listening skills, organization, the importance of attendance and following instructions. This unit is usually presented in November/December, when students are beginning to struggle with staying focused as holidays and vacations approach.

Tyler Tames the Testing Tiger is a story aimed at easing anxiety through preparedness. Third graders tend to have an increase in test anxiety as their first EOG approaches, so this lesson is taught is May as a way to prepare the students for any upcoming stress related to testing.
